Why shuttle software dispatch software is hard to get right
Shuttle dispatch differs structurally from on-demand taxi dispatch on three dimensions: pickups arrive in scheduled clusters rather than ad-hoc, routing optimises across the full daily route plan rather than per-booking, and customer expectations centre on on-time arrival at scheduled stops rather than ETA flexibility. Modern dispatch handles all three as first-class objects: scheduled multi-pickup containers, daily route plans with optimisation against time-and-distance constraints, and per-stop on-time-arrival reporting that feeds operator-to-customer SLA reconciliation.
